Mayors School Academic Year in Review: Growth, Wins & What’s Next

As the curtains close on the 2024/2025 academic year, it’s a time of reflection, celebration, and renewed purpose. At Mayors School, each session is more than just a cycle of terms, it’s a journey of academic growth, character development, and impactful experiences that shape our learners into future-ready leaders. In this review, we walk through how the Mayors School academic year stood out—and what lies ahead.

Academic Excellence: Strong Results Across the Board

One of the most rewarding highlights of this academic year was the performance of our students across various assessments. From stellar results in the BECE and internal school examinations to participation in competitive quizzes and Olympiads, Mayors School continued to uphold a reputation of excellence.

Our teachers worked closely with students through structured prep sessions, continuous assessments, and one-on-one mentorship—ensuring no learner was left behind.

“It’s not just about scoring high; it’s about building the confidence to think critically and independently,” said the Head of School.

    Character, Culture & Community

We believe that real education goes beyond books. This year, our values-based curriculum emphasized leadership, respect, and service. Students took part in mentorship programs, house competitions, and peer support clubs that strengthened bonds and built a positive school culture.

From themed assemblies to character awards, these moments helped shape responsible learners equipped for life beyond the classroom.

Extracurricular Energy: Sports, Tech & the Arts

Whether on the sports field, in the robotics lab, or during art exhibitions, our learners had plenty of avenues to shine. The Mayors Tech Club rolled out a new “Junior Coders” initiative that saw Primary 5 and JSS1 students building simple apps. Our sports team also brought home medals from inter-school tournaments across Lagos.

This dynamic balance between academics and passion pursuits is part of our long-term commitment to whole-child education.
